Frequently asked questions

Get answers to the most common questions before launching your first campaign.

Is it really free?
Yes. You sign up, receive 5 tokens, and can publish your first campaign. You can also earn more by testing other apps. Buying tokens is optional.
When in the development cycle should I use LaunchSignal?
Ideally right before store submission or public launch.
That is when the cost/benefit ratio is strongest: a bug found by a tester costs a few tokens. The same bug found by Apple can cost 1 to 2 extra weeks, and it is even worse if a real user finds it first.
Can I submit my product if it is already live?
Yes, absolutely.
LaunchSignal is not limited to pre-launch products.
You can get your app tested at any time:
after launch
before a new feature
to improve onboarding or UX
or to identify bugs
Many developers use LaunchSignal continuously to improve their product with regular user feedback.
What happens if a tester submits a low-quality report?
The developer rates the report from 1 to 5. A score of 1 or 2 gives the tester no tokens. Repeated low scores lower their global average, reduce their visibility, and can limit access to future campaigns. The system is self-regulated.
Does LaunchSignal comply with store rules?
Yes. Tokens only reward structured test reports submitted on the platform, never public reviews on the App Store or Google Play. Public reviews remain optional and unrewarded. Apple and Google compliance is a non-negotiable principle of the platform.
What kinds of apps can be tested?
iOS apps, Android apps, and web SaaS products. That includes TestFlight betas, early-access apps, and even clickable Framer or Figma prototypes.
Can I choose my testers?
In the initial phase, anyone can apply. In Phase 2, you will be able to filter applicants and accept only testers with the "Verified" badge.
Do purchased tokens expire?
No. Purchased tokens stay available until you use them.
Can I provide test accounts to my testers?
Yes. When creating your campaign, you can provide dedicated login credentials for each tester, or a shared account if you prefer.
That gives you several concrete advantages:
Track sessions with your analytics tools (PostHog, Mixpanel, etc.) by identifying test sessions precisely
Unlock premium features without requiring the tester to have a real paid subscription, so they can test the full experience
Isolate test data from real production users
Revoke access at the end of the campaign in one click
What if a tester is only here to copy my idea?
That risk exists on any beta-testing platform, and even as soon as you talk publicly about your project.
In practice, it is limited for several reasons: a developer already in testing is usually only weeks away from launch, while a copycat starts from zero. A beta reveals an interface, not an architecture or product vision.
On LaunchSignal, an insincere tester quickly exposes themselves through poor-quality reports. Low ratings limit access to future campaigns. The reputation system naturally filters them out.
Real protection comes from execution and speed, not secrecy.
